Sources and licenses
Cellarius Horoscope does not make up the meaning of a first name. Every meaning in our fixed name list is summarized in our own words from a stored source text; the source is shown below the meaning with a link.
Wikipedia and Wiktionary
The meanings come from Wikipedia articles and from Wiktionary. These texts are licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. The authors are listed in the history of the article we link to for each name. We have adapted the texts: they are shortened, translated and summarized in our own words.
Wikidata
Data about the name itself, such as gender and the link to the article, comes from Wikidata. That data is released under CC0.
Which names are in the list
The English list was chosen from commonly given names: the top names of the Office for National Statistics for England and Wales (2025) and of the US Social Security Administration (birth years 1995 through 2024). We only used them to choose which names to include; nothing else was taken from them.

The Dutch list is our own selection, supplemented with the ten most given names of 2025 according to the Sociale Verzekeringsbank. It is a judgment, not a count.
The name list itself
Our name file, with the meanings and the source references, is released under the same license: CC BY-SA 4.0. You may reuse it with attribution and under the same terms.
Is a name missing?
For a first name that is not in the list you can ask for an AI guess with one click. That guess is not checked and does not come from these sources.

Images on the weekly and monthly pages
The images above the weekly horoscope come from Hevelius's Firmamentum Sobiescianum (1690; scans by ETH-Bibliothek Zürich via e-rara, Public Domain Mark; the library asks for credit naming the work, its location and the DOI). The images above the monthly horoscope come from Urania's Mirror (Sidney Hall, 1825; scans from the Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division, in the restored versions by Adam Cuerden via Wikimedia Commons). Both are in the public domain. Hevelius drew the figures mirrored compared with the sky; Urania's Mirror shows them as seen in the sky. The images have been cropped and resized.

Sky calendar
The sky calendar is calculated with Astronomy Engine (MIT license, Don Cross) and tested against NASA's eclipse catalog (Fred Espenak) and our own calculation engine (Skyfield, JPL DE440). Meteor shower peaks follow from the solar longitude of the maximum in the table of the RASC Observer's Handbook 2025; radiant and speed come from the IAU Meteor Data Center (Jenniskens et al. 2020; Jopek and Kaňuchová 2017). For the Draconids: Trigo-Rodríguez et al., MNRAS 433, 560 (2013). The supermoon rule is Nolle's. Nothing was copied from the IMO calendar.
