Rising sign (Ascendant) calculator
Your rising sign is the zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon when you were born. Enter your birth details to find it.
How it works
The Ascendant changes sign roughly every two hours, which is why the birth time matters so much: a few minutes can move it by a degree or more. We use the true local time, including daylight saving time as it was then, and tell you when your time falls close to a sign boundary.
We also show your Midheaven (MC), the highest point of the ecliptic. Above 66° latitude the Placidus house system cannot be calculated; we then use equal houses and say so.
The positions of the Sun, Moon and planets are calculated with astronomical precision for your moment and place of birth. The interpretation follows the Western astrological tradition: a centuries-old way of looking at the sky, not a scientific prediction.
