Libra yearly horoscope
This is a year in which relationships, agreements, and your own sense of balance are asked to hold more weight than usual. Saturn stays in Aries all year and sits opposite your sign, which puts the question of what you owe others, and what they owe you, in front of you from January to December. Neptune is in Aries as well, so the opposition is softer at the edges and sometimes harder to read. Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius both form trines with your sign, and they give the year a steadier, more supportive undertone. The events to watch are the annular solar eclipse in Aquarius on February 6, the meeting of Venus and Neptune on April 24, the penumbral lunar eclipse in Capricorn on July 18, Jupiter's move into Virgo on July 26, and the Sun in Libra forming a trine with Uranus on October 3.
The main theme is the partner across the table. Saturn in Aries opposes your sign, and in the tradition an opposition from Saturn is a test of mutual obligation. It can show up in a marriage, a business partnership, a close friendship, or any arrangement in which two people have agreed to carry something together. Saturn asks whether the terms are fair, whether they are written down or only assumed, and whether both sides are keeping them. Because Saturn is retrograde from August 9 to December 24, the second half of the year leans toward reviewing what was set in motion earlier rather than starting something new. Neptune in Aries is opposite your sign too, and it is retrograde from July 10 to December 15. Neptune dissolves outlines, so you may find that someone close to you is not quite who you pictured, or that you have not been entirely clear with yourself about what you want from them. Retrograde Neptune tends to turn that blur inward, and the work is to see more honestly.
The trines are your resources. Uranus in Gemini is in an easy relationship with your sign, and it favors the unexpected idea, the change of routine, and the conversation that opens a new door. It turns direct again on February 8 and retrograde on September 15. Pluto in Aquarius also trines your sign, and in the tradition Pluto works slowly and underneath, asking what is outworn and ready to be released. Pluto is retrograde from May 8 to October 18. The two eclipses this year are worth a note as well. The February 6 solar eclipse in Aquarius falls in a sign that trines yours, so it tends to feel like an opening. The July 18 lunar eclipse in Capricorn squares your sign, and a square asks for effort. It is a moment to notice where a commitment, or a sense of duty, is pressing against what you actually want.
The first quarter begins with Venus, your ruler, in a square with Jupiter on January 3. A square between these two can make generosity run a little past good sense, in spending, in commitments, or in what you agree to take on. In ordinary days it might look like saying yes to an invitation or a favor you regret by the weekend. On January 10 Mars turns retrograde in Virgo, and it stays retrograde until April 1. Mars is the planet of drive, and while it moves backward, effort goes into repair and revision more than into pushing ahead. Old tasks come back around. A project you thought was finished may need a second pass.
The annular solar eclipse in Aquarius on February 6 arrives in a trine with your sign, and eclipses in the tradition mark turning points. This one is friendly to you. It can bring a fresh interest, a new acquaintance, or a clearer sense of the group you belong to. Uranus turns direct in Gemini on February 8, which can feel like a small release of pressure in your thinking. Then on February 9 Mercury turns retrograde in Pisces, and it turns direct in Aquarius on March 3. Messages go astray more easily in this window, and a plan made in haste is worth rereading. What would you check twice before sending in these weeks?
The second quarter opens with Mars turning direct in Leo on April 1, and Jupiter turns direct in Leo on April 13. The long pause eases. Plans that stalled in January can move again, and you may notice that decisions come more readily. The standout event is April 24, when Venus, your ruler, joins Neptune in Aries. A conjunction between your ruler and Neptune can lend charm and tenderness to a relationship, and it can also lend a haze. You may see only what you hope to see in someone. It is a good week for art, music, and gentle company, and a poor one for fine print. Two days later, on April 26, Venus forms a sextile with Pluto in Aquarius. This is a quieter, more useful contact, and it can help you speak plainly about something that has been left unsaid.
Pluto turns retrograde in Aquarius on May 8, and the slow inner review begins. In daily life this might be a sense that a long-held habit or a loyalty is ready to be looked at again, without any need to act on it right away. On June 10 Mercury turns retrograde in Cancer, and it stays that way into early July. In Cancer, Mercury turns attention toward home, family, and old memories. Conversations with relatives may circle back, and a household matter you set aside may ask for attention. It is a time to listen more than you argue.
The third quarter begins with Mercury turning direct in Gemini on July 4, which clears the air after the summer slowdown. On July 10 Neptune turns retrograde in Aries, and the opposition to your sign takes on a more inward character. You may find that a relationship you have been idealizing needs to be seen as it actually is. The penumbral lunar eclipse in Capricorn on July 18 squares your sign. Penumbral eclipses are subtle, and the effect is usually more mood than event, perhaps a flicker of tension around work, duty, or reputation. Notice where you feel pressed, and let it be information.
On July 26 Jupiter enters Virgo, leaving the sextile it made to your sign from Leo. Jupiter in Virgo has a different relationship to you, and it favors the practical, the orderly, and the useful. Daily routines, health habits, and small improvements to how you work can be worth the effort now. Saturn turns retrograde in Aries on August 9, and from here the opposition becomes a review of agreements already made. Uranus turns retrograde in Gemini on September 15. Expect some second thoughts about a change you were drawn to earlier, and give them room.
The fourth quarter holds the one moment in the year that speaks most directly to you. On October 3 the Sun in Libra forms a trine with Uranus in Gemini. In the tradition the Sun in its own sign shows you at your most characteristic, and a trine from Uranus gives that a spark of originality and ease. It is a good day to try the thing you have been circling around, a different way of working with another person, or a small break from habit. On October 7 Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio, which turns thought toward what lies beneath the surface, such as motives, secrets, and unspoken terms. Pluto turns direct in Aquarius on October 18, so the slow work of the last months begins to take shape. On October 28 Mercury turns direct in Libra, in your sign, and this is the most personal Mercury moment of the year. Your own words and judgment feel more reliable. A conversation you have put off may go better than you expected.
Neptune turns direct in Aries on December 15, and the haze around your closest relationships begins to lift. Saturn turns direct in Aries on December 24, which closes the retrograde review that began in August. The opposition is still there, but you have had time to see where your agreements hold and where they need adjusting. As the year ends, the terms you keep are the ones you have actually examined.
One small thought for the year: when a request comes from someone close, give yourself a full day before you answer. Saturn's opposition rewards clear terms, and a pause is often all it takes to find them.
The positions of the Sun, Moon and planets are calculated with astronomical precision. The interpretation follows the Western astrological tradition: a centuries-old way of looking at the sky, not a scientific prediction.
